Julbo is happy to announce that Nancy Hansen will be joining our ambassadorial team!

Hailing from Canmore (AB), this adventurous climber has spent over 20 years scaling rock, ice and mountains, both on foot and on skis. She is the first woman to climb all 54 peaks in the Canadian Rockies - over 11,000 feet! She has also, so far, completed 46 of the climbs listed in the iconic guidebook "Fifty Classic Climbs of North America".

For the past 19 years, Nancy Hansen has worked in various positions at the Alpine Club of Canada for which she recently finished her term as its Interim Executive Director. Over the past 5 years, she has also been presenting films for the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. Nancy Hansen has given dozens of talks about her climbing exploits that have inspired climbers and non-climbers alike to reach for the unknown.

The end of February marked the start of her next great adventure: traveling to Germany and the European Alps to train; then to Nepal to undertake the ultimate challenge: scaling Mt. Everest. If that weren’t enough, Nancy Hansen will be attempting this climb without supplementary oxygen; a feat attempted by fewer than 1% of today’s Everest climbers.

Should Nancy Hansen succeed, she will be the 6th woman in the world and the only woman from North America to conquer Everest without supplementary oxygen.

Julbo is proud to be behind Nancy Hansen and excited to watch her reach for the top!
