Developing the Finisher EVO wasn’t just about making a helmet—it was about crafting a high-performance tool through collaboration, data, and real-world testing. With 30 hours in the wind tunnel, 3 CFD studies, and 4 rounds of physical prototypes, every design decision was backed by science and rider feedback.
From 6 iterations of the aero shell to 13 on-site visits with elite athletes, the process brought together 3 designers, 1 agency, and 2 product managers to refine every detail. What started as an idea evolved into a helmet that truly reflects the demands of today's road and gravel riders.

From managing airflow and heat buildup to fine-tuning padding thickness and vent placement, every detail was tested, validated, and optimized.
This relentless focus on performance—led by the Julbo Performance team—ensures that what you wear on the road isn’t just comfortable and protective, but also race-proven. Whether it’s the impact of shell colour on heat, or the precision airflow channelling, every element is engineered with purpose. When your helmet is tested by riders logging over 30,000 km per year, reaching speeds of up to 105 km/h, and racing more than 100 days annually, there’s no room for compromise. The Finisher EVO was shaped by the real-world demands of elite cyclists—and the expertise of designers, product managers, and development partners who listened and responded at every step.
From hands-on field visits to raw feedback, every design detail was challenged. Too big. Too tight. Not durable enough. Athletes like Lewis, Rudy, and Quentin pushed our team to refine shell sizing, fit systems, and finish quality—while the Julbo Performance Hub turned that feedback into functional innovation. Because when everyone is all-in, the result is a helmet ready for every ride.

When it comes to head protection, there’s no room for compromise. The Finisher EVO is built with an integrated roll cage structure, offering increased impact resistance while keeping the helmet lightweight and streamlined. It meets both EN 1078 and CPSC safety standards, ensuring protection whether you're racing in Europe or training in North America.
At its core lies MIPS Air Node, a cutting-edge low-friction layer that helps reduce rotational forces in the event of an angled impact. This advanced technology is seamlessly integrated into the helmet’s fit system, delivering safety without sacrificing comfort or ventilation. Because true performance begins with trusted protection.
Aerodynamics That Deliver Real Gains
The Finisher EVO wasn’t just designed—it was shaped by data. Using CFD simulations and wind tunnel testing at Magny-Cours, Julbo’s team fine-tuned every curve and contour of the helmet. From the bullet-shaped profile to the optimized front vents and rear tail extension, airflow was engineered for real-world performance.
The result? Up to 15.4 watts saved compared to previous designs, and a time gain of more than 12 minutes over a 4-hour effort. With every watt and every second counting in high-level riding, the Finisher EVO gives cyclists a true aerodynamic edge—without compromising comfort or ventilation.
Smart Ventilation. Real Heat Management.
Staying cool under pressure takes more than just a few vents. With the Finisher EVO, Julbo engineered a complete airflow system—from strategically placed channels and custom padding cuts to CFD-driven thermal testing. The result: consistent ventilation, even during peak efforts and summer heat.
Even colour was considered: a white shell can reduce internal temperature by up to 0.5°C at 33°C. Every detail was tested in both lab conditions and real rides—because performance isn’t just about speed, it’s about comfort when it matters most.
